Do I get charged for incoming calls?

No, there is normally no charge for incoming minutes. (Q34)

How can I check my call records?

Broadband telephone service providers keep a record of your calls. You can normally access your call records for a period of time by going to your account. (Q35)

Can I make toll-free calls (e.g. 800, 888) with broadband telephones?

Yes, most broadband telephone service providers support toll free numbers. (Q38)

How do international rates compare with conventional telephone services?

The rate you pay should be less (or much less) than what you normally pay. (Q56)

Is Internet access included with broadband telephone service?

Not normally. Internet access and broadband telephone service are two separate things. Please check with the broadband telephone company. (Q25)

If my area code is different than my home number area code, will I pay long distance charges for calls placed from my broadband phone?

This depends on the phone plan you select. Some plans include a fixed amount of long distance calling while others don't. (Q51)

If my area code differs from my home number area code, will people calling me be charged long distance charges?

Yes, they may be. When someone places a call to your phone number, it is treated as if they are calling a phone number in the area code. Some area codes are overlays with other area codes, and calling from one area code to another isn't necessarily a long distance call. For example, in Atlanta, the 678 area code is an overlay with 770, and many calls from one to the other are still local calls. (Q52)
